You can drop in for a 10-15 minute session and see a Career Coach for:

  • a one-on-one Career Drop-in Advising session to get an overview of career services, ask questions about planning your major, applying for internships, writing a resume/cover letter, interviewing, and more.
  • a personalized resume, cover letter, or LinkedIn Profile review

UndocuMentorship

  • UndocuMentors provide mentorship and resources (financial, mental, and health wellness, legal services, etc.) for fellow students (DACA, TPS, etc).
  • Lead student support groups - ALAS
  • Provide education to the campus community by participating in the Ally Training for Faculty and workshops at the cultural centers.

Student Assistance Center Drop-In

Services Available:

The Student Assistance Center serves as the first point of contact for students who call, email, or walk into the Office of the Dean of Students. The Assistant Deans help students understand university policies and procedures, educate them about and connect them to campus resources, and support students in crisis. Students visit us regarding a broad range of issues that may be impacting their academic performance including those related to health/mental health, course attendance issues, questions about where to go on campus to seek different services, options for withdrawing from the university, or because they need help and just aren’t sure where to go. We help students find their way!

Who am I meeting with?

The Student Assistance Center's Program Coordinator:

  • Xiangyi Liu - Program Coordinator at the Office of the Dean of Students (she/her/hers)
    • Xiangyi was born and raised in Chengdu, China. Xiangyi received her M.S. degree in Learning Sciences from Northwestern University, and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Florida. In her role at the Office of the Dean of Students, Xiangyi assists students in analyzing various issues and connecting with campus resources. Before she joined the U of I, Xiangyi served in low-income communities in rural China to help students obtain financial aid and online education. Being a first-generation and international student, Xiangyi understands the challenges of navigating an unfamiliar environment. 

McKinley Health Center Self-Care & Wellness Packs

Every Tuesday | 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Location: Conference roomself-care

Services Available:

The McKinley Health Resource Center is providing a self-care station at the AACC. You are eligible to receive a kit full of over-the-counter self-care supplies. All supplies are included as part of your health service fee, and are provided at no extra cost to you.

What you may find in the kit:

Available twice a semester:

  • Cold care products
  • Personal care and health maintenance items 
    • Home pregnancy kit
    • Yeast infection treatment
    • Wound care pack
    • Allergy pack

Available every two weeks:

  • Contraceptive products:
    • Condom pack
    • lubricant or spermicidal gel
    • latex barriers

Available once a year

  • Sleep pack
  • Narcan nasal spray

Wesley Food Pantry Basket

Dates/Times for Drop-In Weekly Food Pantry food

Monday-Friday | 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 

Location: AACC Lounge

Services Available:

In the AACC Lounge, is a food pantry basket, filled with various food and wellness items available at no extra cost to students. Items are refilled weekly and provided by the Wesley Food Pantry.
