A note from the staff
Welcome to Asiantation! My name is Will Yepsen and I am the Program Coordinator at the Asian American Cultural Center. This resource booklet contains RSOs, campus resources, and information about the AACC and IE. Illinois has one of the largest and most flourishing AANHPI communities in the country - Asian Americans and Asian international students make up the largest minority group on this campus.
As the AACC enters its 20th year, I think of all the work that students have put into making this event the success it is today. Without the work of students as early as the 1970s, and through the work of Vida Gosrisirikul and others in the 1990s, the Cultural Center and programs like Asiantation would not exist! Now, as we enter 20 years, I want us to look back to see how far Asian American student life at Illinois has come.
Whether you are a new student, a graduating senior, faculty, or staff, the AACC and IE hope you enjoy this digital resource guide. This is not only for the purpose of use, but to capture the diverse and immense scope of the AANHPI community here and now at the University of Illinois. We hope you enjoy Asiantation and hope to see you at both IE and AACC events in the future!
