The University of Illinois Counseling Center provides mental health counseling and well-being education for students. Our center is staffed by a group of diverse professionals who understand the range of concerns facing students. The Counseling Center is committed to providing a broad range of high quality, innovative, and ethical services that address the psychological, educational, social, and developmental needs of University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign students. We also actively contribute to the campus’ broader academic mission by training and developing students and professionals, helping build a multicultural learning community, and providing leadership in forming collaborative partnerships among Student Affairs, Academic Affairs, the Graduate College, and Administrative Affairs units.

Gender and Sexuality Resource Center

Since its founding in 1993, the mission of the Gender & Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC) has been to foster an environment that is open, safe, and inclusive for people of all sexualities and gender identities to be their authentic selves. The GSRC not only empowers the 2SLGBTQIA+, nonbinary, and gender nonconforming community through its educational and social programming, but it also provides a welcoming, learning, and supportive atmosphere for the University of Illinois campus community who is interested in developing their knowledge of the 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Some of the GSRC signature programs include are their Quench (Lunch on Us Series), their Fall and Spring Welcome Events, Speaking Queerly discussion series, LGBTQ+ Ally Trainings and Lavender Congratulatory. Programs and events are also provided by their RSO/ Student Group Affiliates, the Queer Campus Coalition (QCC). These student-led organizations provide programs and meetings open to all 2SLGBTQIA+ identified individuals.
